Information collected automatically
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the Website is used: pages viewed, how you arrived (for example, the referring website or link), approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address; Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses), device, browser, and operating system type, screen size, language, and interactions such as clicks on social media links and buttons, video plays, and successful form submissions.
- Server and security data. Our hosting and network providers automatically process technical data, such as IP address, browser user agent, requested pages, and timestamps, to deliver the Website, keep it secure, and prevent abuse.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Website does not display advertising. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) on every visit to distinguish visitors and sessions. These cookies expire after up to two years. We do not use Google Analytics data for advertising.
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, or prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking cookies does not prevent you from using the Website.
How we use information
We use information to:
- respond to your inquiries and discuss the promotion of your game;
- operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Website;
- understand, in aggregate, which pages, guides, and videos are useful;
- comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Legal bases for processing (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
- Legitimate interests: measuring and improving the Website with Google Analytics, responding to messages you send us, and keeping the Website secure.
- Steps before entering into a contract: answering your questions about promoting your game.
- Legal obligations: keeping or disclosing information when the law requires it.
How we share information
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the Website, under terms that limit how they may use it:
- Google LLC (Google Analytics): website analytics.
- Web3Forms: delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
- Netlify, Inc.: website hosting.
- Cloudflare, Inc.: domain name system (DNS) services.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, property, or safety or those of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. When you follow a link to a social network or online store, that platform's privacy policy applies.
International data transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or a provider's certification under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep information
- Contact form messages: for as long as needed to respond and to manage any resulting business relationship, and afterwards only as long as required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.
- Google Analytics data: up to 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically.
- Server and security logs: for limited periods, according to our providers' retention policies.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share it);
- exercise these rights without discrimination.
To make a request, use the contact form. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. Where the law allows, you may make a request through an authorized agent. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Nevada residents: we do not sell covered information as defined under Nevada law (NRS Chapter 603A). You may still submit a request through the contact form.
California residents: in the past 12 months, we collected identifiers (such as your name and email address), commercial information you choose to share about your game, internet or other electronic network activity (website analytics), and approximate geolocation, from the sources and for the purposes described in this policy. We have not sold or shared personal information, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under 16.
Children's privacy
The Website is intended for game developers and businesses. It is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and the UK), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including HTTPS encryption on every page. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
